Details:
Honda Marine has released its much-anticipated
completely redesigned BF75 and BF90 four-stroke EFI
outboards.
The new BF75 / BF90’s 1.5lt, SOHC, 16-valve, inline
four-cylinder VTEC™ (BF90) engine is inspired by the
same remarkable engine that powers Honda’s number one
selling motor vehicle, the ‘Jazz’.
A
range of Honda-exclusive technologies, superior
performance and impressive power-to-weight ratios place
these new models at the top of their class.
Honda Marine Manager Tim Davies said the new engines
were developed around three key themes – economy,
efficiency and durability.
“New
to the BF75 / BF90 is multi-port electronic fuel
injection (EFI) which, coupled with a dynamic engine
control module, delivers top fuel economy in a very
compact and lightweight package,” Mr Davies said.
“Our exclusive Lean Burn Control system automatically
adjusts the air/fuel mix to deliver unsurpassed
efficiency, while a two-way cooling system allows the
cylinder head to run slightly cooler than the engine
block, which improves long-term engine durability.
“Honda’s
revolutionary Boosted Low Speed Torque (BLAST™) system,
teamed with a high-performance gear case with a low
2.33:1 ratio, also ensures very strong hole shot
acceleration – so strong it blasts other outboards in
this class out of the water!”
Best-in-class top end performance and fuel economy,
superior battery charging capacity, low operational
costs and, of course, lightest weight in class are among
a long list of features.
“Honda engineers strive for continuous improvement –
creating new and innovative features to further perfect
Honda products,” Mr Davies said.
“When Honda Marine realised an increasing number of
boaters wanted programmed EFI in the mid-horsepower
range, along with explosive hole shot performance and
exceptional fuel economy, design for a revolutionary new
model began immediately… now it’s here.
“Honda’s new BF75 and BF90 deliver on all fronts!”
